School meals at Vicarage

Every primary school child in Newham is entitled to a free school meal and we encourage every family to take up this opportunity. Halal food is available on every day and the daily menu includes is a variety of salad, sandwiches, jacket potatoes and fresh fruit. There is no need for parents to provide packed lunches, but if you feel your child must have food from home please ensure it complies with the healthy food standards. We do not allow chocolate, sweets or fizzy drinks; children can be taken home at lunchtime to eat at home, however, we discourage this as children need to socialise with their friends at this time.

Our kitchen staff sometimes produce their own signature dishes. These dishes are authentic and diverse, coming from all parts of the world from the East End of London to Asia, the Caribbean, Africa and Eastern Europe. All dishes will meet the HFA standards.

Due to guidance from the DfE, all children from Nursery to Year 6 will now be offered milk at break time in school. If your child is allergic to milk or you do not wish your child to have milk in school, please let the school office know immediately.

After School Care

At the end of the school day some of our pupils are collected by after school
care staff who care for them until 6pm. For further information about after
school care please contact the school office.
